I'd hope so, but jacket designers and authors don't often get to work closely together. Goodness knows how many times I've seen, say, black-haired characters depicted as blonde on the jacket. So, who knows?
He mentions the dead parrot on the cover in chapter one as he notes the absence of Monty Python from the book. Mind you, I've had blank looks from people in their late twenties about dead parrots.

I'm afraid that was just a manifestation of my weakness for bad puns. But since The Lion King very few people pronounce 'Timon' in the way required for it to work, which is perhaps just as well.
