Rapleaf II

Of course, he still hasn't answered the question of what an "aggregate purpose" is but Vivek@Rapleaf.com says...

We've made some major improvements internally to our opt-out process and we no longer require you mail in the opt-out request form. Your information is now opted-out of Rapleaf and is now removed from our databases.

I apologize for any inconvenience. Please let me know if you have any other questions, concerns, etc.

Edit:
Via [livejournal.com profile] nhw, an apology from Crapleaf: http://blog.rapleaf.com/2007/09/06/start-ups-privacy-and-being-wrong/

Yeah, but what bothers me is how the buggers got the info in the first place...

Logging ISPs?

A certain amount of info is out there, and I guess if you have time or big crunching devices you can link it up. Harvested emails can be used to search Facebook say.

BTW you still have their "Social Networks" app enabled on your facebook account!

My brain is still not awake so I'm not sure which application you mean...

I've found a couple of Rap and Up apps on Facebook which I've blocked, and updated privacy settings (I don't necessarily object to be found, but maybe I shouldn't make it easy).

Is whatever it is still enabled?

Yeah, you seem to have got it - it was the "Social Networks" app, with the UpScoop logo.

I think I found it a couple of months ago and thought no more of it at the time. Heigho.
