On the other hand, A.N. Wilson isn't entirely slappable because he concludes "Like all the best science fiction, the novel actually says something about ourselves." It could have been worse.

I was going to veer off into Swastika Night, long leather coats, Leni Riefenstahl, the Volkswagen Beetle, nights of the long knives, Allo, Allo... but apart from that, what have the Nazis ever given us? But I thought better of it.

Lol yes, and it's fine for you to go down that route, it made me laugh!

I've seen life of brian but it was a really long time ago.

They've also given us some lovely uniforms for the fetish scene to be proud of.

For some reason it posted me as anonymous there. But it was me, I confess. Perhaps it was giving me a chance to stop digging myself deeper.

I hate the telegraph most of the time.

Possibly a bit extreme for them? I can't remember the details (not being alive at the time) but I'm pretty sure Lord --- of the Mail being in contact with AH and admiring editorials and such like.


I can remember a very bourgeoise tutor at an Open University summer school not getting the point of such uniforms and clearly not getting the fetish. Repeatedly. At length. Loudly. Despite copious explanations.
