Dealing with doctors and Boots.

Last time I had a prescription to renew, I'd checked whether there was a batch prescription still lodged with Boots, then made an appointment with my doctor. I was very keen to come off the batch scheme, in which you are given six monthly prescriptions, Boots look after them, and then they can't find them the next time because they're not looking in the place I've told them to look. It's generally more stressful than dropping a prescription off at the surgery once a month to be renewed and picking it up two days later.

The doctor was then confused, because apparently I'd been prescribed the medication two days' earlier. I never did get a satisfactory explanation, and I was off abroad a couple of days' later so didn't chase.

I dropped off a prescription for renewing on Monday.

I went back today, and they couldn't find it. It turns out they've done a batch prescription of six, and sent them direct to Boots. I hadn't agreed for this to happen, indeed was considering going to a non-Boots pharmacy (although the only other convenient one, unless I walk down to Morrisons, is now run by Boots as well) because I'm fed up with the service. I now have to go to Boots and try and get them to admit to having my prescriptions. I'm tempted to demand five of them back.
