Psychological thriller - psychologist Tom Seymour rescues a young man from drowning, only to discover he is Danny Miller, an alleged murder who was put away a decade earlier, partly on Tom's evidence. As Tom agrees to counsel Danny, it seems likely that he is being used, and an act of revenge may be underway.
An interesting and gripping novel, but in fact too far from the thriller form to be sufficiently satisfying - I felt toyed with but not in a good way. It's not Patricia Highsmith or Barbara Vine.
