Alcohol Pricing

If they want to drink prices to cost 50p per alcohol unit, how little is reasonable drinking if it will only cost a pound a month more?


Will my pint come down to a pound?

Assuming that they will leave my pint alone at £2.60 (£1.30 per unit) I guess this is only an issue if I start buying value. Or cheap wine. Which is possible (there are drinkable New World wines for £3).

Despite the fact that this is apparently a vote-loser, it would only really be an issue for the hard-up white cider drinker. Though what everyone has missed is that the Scottish proposals will also ban three-for-two offers, so is that £3 wine still going to be that cheap?
