I just got a letter from the NHS asking me to confirm my verbal reference for ---- from the record of a phone conversation I had had with them.
Excuse me?
The person who had the conversation - who sent a written reference as well - is a female colleague of mine; I'd been initially listed as a referee but I'm not close enough to the current post. I've never been rung.
I don't remember being rung.
Was I rung?
Pretty scary record keeping by the NHS (who have both my and the referee's name on the form they sent) and so much for confidentiality.
