Nottingham: I am forced by a floor manager to use the self-service till not one with a cashier and this a) robs me of my green points, b) robs me of any points, c) takes long enough that the three people behind me have been served.
Local: to deal with excessive queues they now have one (1) till open for trolleys and the express tills for every thing else. The person sat at the trolley till throughout my visit to the shop without serving anyone, and he was not allowed to serve me. I seriously contemplated decanting my three items to a trolley. I will in future. I notice the suggestion box has been removed. Everyone else is complaining too. Psychologically I prefer to queue behind three people rather than twelve, even if another queue moves at a different speed (you know which cashiers are s-l-o-w). Of course you cannot legislate - as this morning in the bank - for getting stuck behind the people disposing of their one pence collection.
There will be a third thing.

But it's the only supermarket on my way home with the demise of Safeways - Netto and Aldi never inspire for anything other than bargain of the week, ASDA is a bus ride away and a taxi home, Sainsbury a trek and a taxi, Morrison's more convenient but still a trek and more expensive. It's the devil's bargain. Maybe I should price up Waitrose deliveries and just buy my milk from the corner shop.
Tesco's is just too convenient - although it's getting like my experience of fast food: neither fast nor food.
