I think one in 1992 or thereabouts would have been fine - and there's the Return of the Three Musketeers older characters different problems - but much further and we're into Silver Horde territory. The Curse of the Zimmerframe. Surfer of the Bus Pass.
Mind you, I've always been agnostic about the holy trilogy so the prequels didn't piss on my childhood as it has on others'. Still awful awful movies mind.
