[livejournal.com profile] martyn44 links to this - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/7397979.stm - from which this is a delight:

"Feedback, in terms of this questionnaire, means what happens in seminars. Every seminar you have you get some interactive feedback from the person giving it.

"So if I ask a question and no one answers, and I start banging my head on the table, that is feedback.

"If I'm smiling and going 'yeah great', you're getting feedback. If you get a mark for a piece of work, that's what we mean by feedback."

Here are a number of additional feedback mechanisms:

  • if the tutor's forehead is bruised or nose broken.
  • if the tutor keeps popping pills.
  • if the tutor asks you whether you'd considered going full time at Tescos.
  • if the tutor wanders around muttering, "The Horror, The Horror".
  • if the tutor needs a third mug of coffee during the hour-long seminar.
  • if the tutor has posted office hours in the designated smoking kiosk.
  • if the tutor gulps from a hip flask.
  • if the tutor can be heard audibly sobbing in his or her office.

I'm sure the people you know are smarter.

On the other hand, you know me.

(I always point out we get them to fill in anonymous questionnaires just as we taken samples of their handwriting. I am so going to lose this job...)
