The final stages always take longer than you anticipate. I think it's the letting go.
And no matter how many times you do it, you underestimate the wrench, and the timing. It's about saying goodbye.
So here we are again.
You keep finding things to do, although in truth by now it should be out of your hands. Pass on to the next stage. Move on. Let it go.
I'd thought it was all going to be over last Sunday. But there were other commitments, and it never goes how you expect, so it wasn't to be. Monday was a full day, so I never expected to get it done then; Tuesday though... Tuesday I crashed. And Wednesday was a visit day so I lost most of the time to that.
So now I am there, on the edge, ready to pass over. Tomorrow.
Oh god, please let it be tomorrow.
Yes, I've finally understood the en-dash rule and need to change some of these back into hyphens. Then there's the blockquotations which require a certain amount of attention. The repagination. And the insertion of two or three stray page references. The checking of contents pages against chapter headings.
But then, then it's done.
