I was wondering what's going on - ITV is showing Dexter and now Pushing Daisies, and what with The Sopranos finishing I'm being weaned off BBC2/C4. Since when did ITV show interesting drama?

Of course, you have to suffer for it. I still haven't forgiven BBC2 for pulling Murder One two episodes before the end because of whatever football/Olympics/under 15 tiddlywinks has to take priority. (They did relent in the end and show it.) When was the last time you heard "The darts will resume after this extend episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm"? Fortunately I set the video to tape for two hours with the final episode of Damages because the golf overran by seventy minutes. And now, get ready:

Yes, we can't see episode two because it is vital for us to watch ... Turkey vs Portugal

don't complain

there was an infamous episode of that that happened on this side of the Pond many years back, when the last truly game-changing few minutes of a Thanksgiving Day (american) football game was cut/overriden so that broadcast of the movie Heidi could begin on time.

they override shows here without warning all the time for political foolishness ..

Re: don't complain

I think if I wanted to watch Heidi then I wouldn't necessarily object. But that doesn't sound like significant TV. (Not that I can get excited about rugby with safety measures...)

The final episode of a densely structured drama though, it's pretty important to catch it if you've been following the whole season. And to yank an episode to fit in a tournament that we're not even involved in - madness.
