You can tell how far into a project I am by the height of the piles in front of me, on the floor next to me (both sides now) and on the table next to the printer. I am about to shift stuff to make room to print.
I am frustrated that the piles contain both the weather-tight and first fix stages, when I'd rather have those separate, indeed these were separate until the waifs and strays submitted. Ah well. Move stuff, find paper and cartridge, pee, more coffee, do second fix on a chapter on Ethics and Alterity.
The trick is for the word count to go down rather than up - 250,000 is the target.
