Expotition

I have just spent about half an hour booking a ticket on HST1 - the vital search clicky was hidden behind another box in Firefox, and it has than chicken and egg thing of it won't allow you to click on services until you've chosen your price band, but the price bands are invisible until you've chosen your service. Meanwhile, it clearly makes a distinction between booking a ticket and reserving your right to travel, because it is only necessary to click on a service if you want to reserve a seat. And when I say reserve a seat, I don't want to give the impression that you have any opportunity to specify aisle or table or anything like that. I don't know where I'll be sitting.

I remain to be convinced if a ticket twice the usual price is worth an additional walk/bus ride but the saving of 38 minutes and a trip on the Victoria line. I guess the price difference is a tenner.

For the other side of London, for only the second time, I'll travel first class on the return journey on the grounds I might get a free coffee and it was only a quid more. And I will dress down. That's because I want the journey to be 2 hours rather than closer to three.
