Small Step to a Boycott

I read this this letter in the Grauniad last night, but didn't register its author. I'm not quite sure I follow all the logic about the hypocrisy (I don't think a cultural boycott is the same as what people complain Israel is doing in Gaza).

When I was union rep at my last job, the local branch leaders complained about how the union nationally was wasting time talking about Israel rather than dealing with wages, conditions etc. Of course, complaining about wasted time rather wasted time. And they didn't seem interested in the undermining of the readership role, which was surely under their remit.
