Every day, I don’t quite complete the washing up because there’s not enough room in the drainer, where I leave things to air and dry. Next time I pass and see stuff is dry, I put everything away and wash up the next batch. In the meantime more has piled up, and there isn’t room on the drainer.

There’s a metaphor for something there, if you look.
