I never *listen* to commentaries - I can't watch films like that. Plus they're usually so dull. Though I have wondered whether you film types use em for teaching - do your own commentary as a podcast for students to play as they watch? Or is that spoonfeeding?

Is the Dickcrit market still booming? Filmwise I still think Strick's piece on The Abyss that we heard in 1991 is as good as anything else I've read. Though I've not read as much as you, obviously, nor read anything you've written on the films (he adds hastily) and that was, as he pointed out,before there were many films-of-the-stories beyond BR.
